Last year, we invited designers from all over the world to submit their ideas for the transformation of Blackpool’s seafront into a spectacular ‘People’s Playground’. We were surprised and delighted by the positive response we received from highly-respected international agencies, all keen to meet our unique challenge to create an experience designed to excite and amaze residents and visitors alike: an experience firmly rooted in Blackpool’s extraordinary heritage, yet offering a totally twenty-first-century adventure.

We want to make sure that people from the local community are kept up to date with developments and to ensure that everyone gets the chance to express their opinions. We have now submitted the final proposal to The Big Lottery Living Landmarks Programme for £25m which if awarded will go towards the delivery of this £57m People's Playground project.
